What year did you start racing mountain bikes? Er, wayback, like, 1988 or so, but I have not made it consistent (yet).
What is your best race performance or most satisfying race performance? 2nd in 2002 Hotter 'n Hell MTB Time Trial

Name your favorite place to ride: Earth
Why do you race? It's how I train for the social rides.
Hardest thing about racing? Explaining to co-workers why I have S-4 stencilled on my calf on Monday mornings.
What was your first race experience like? Crazy. Took place in Garmisch Germany on the side of a Alpine mountain in 1988. Course started with 1500 meter climb, by the third lap I was so hypoxic and tired that I almost broke my fork hopping a four inch drainage ditch near the bottom of the course.
What has been the hardest moment or worst bonk you've experienced in a race? Figuring out that I just didn't have enough "go" juice for the last 20 (mostly climbing) km of a 100km race and DNFing.

What is your pre-race ritual? oatmeal, coffee, Delerium, and Nei Kung - in that order.
